You don't blindly believe or follow what is said because its in print. If you are interested in facts, you follow up on the writer's statements and references. The biggest reason we read blogs is to inspire ideas or open us up to new possibilities, not to make up our minds for us. So yes the statement about hairstyles affecting rape statistics above may or may not be true but its up to the reader to form an opinion because the writer already has hers.
