I HATE Fox (faux) news with a passion, but I love your blog, I love what you stand for, and I love how well you represented yourself on television. Very collected, confident and sensible. Fabulous!

If that’s your computer though, oh lawd, was dat sum internet exploder 6?!?! And a HUGE CRT monitor on your desktop? I don’t imagine you being the type that goes to bed hungry at night, and as someone whose livelihood depends on computers/internet, it surprised me.

Since you say you spend so much time writing (five hours a day on the blog) have you ever considered something like the Dvorak keyboard configuration? If you get to say “blogosphere” I am going to say “lifehack”

Great job Penny.

You were a natural! When does the talk show start? And what about the consulting for TV news segments (like the lawyers and military experts do)?
The blog on CEO accountability was also really good. Imagine holding men accountable for their immoral behavior and antifamily ethics:) The times they are achanging.

Caitlin…maybe, but I’ve had some experience in the business and you’d be surprised at how unsophisticated on-air personalities can be. In any event, I did’t mean any disrespect to the TV folks…meant it more as a compliment to Penelope. I think Fox took most of their material from her so she deserves a lot of credit.
If you read Charley Belcher’s blog, you’ll see that he give Penelope even more credit for helping him understand what blogs are all about. The intimation here is that he didn’t understand that before speaking with the P-bomb! So I guess you can give them credit for getting a certified expert to tell the story rather then trying to butcher it on their own.

Hey Ted, maybe Penelope can answer this (but she is probably far diplomatic to want to answer it) but I’m not sure the TV people were _really_ clueless about blogging. I think they were probably pitching it to the level (or perceived level) of the Fox News audience. They simplified things quite a bit and assumed no prior knowledge but they didn’t get anything wrong - it takes quite a skill to avoid using jargon and boil down something complicated to something simple.

PENELOPE…TV is your calling. It was a great piece. You came off as smart AND cute. I especially liked the way you worked in your sponsor (LinkedIn) into the piece. And even though the TV people were obviously clueless about blogging, you came off as informative and helpful BUT NOT condescending.
