Wow, these look great! I LOVE maple syrup (and the Vince Vaughn monologue about maple syrup in Wedding Crashers, which I can’t help by think about now).

Also, I’ve been reading your blog for a while and I think it’s great. I’ve tried many of your cookie recipes and they’ve all been fabulous (the spicy molasses cookies and coffee cookies are my favorites). Thanks for all of the inspiring dessert ideas!

One other suggestion, not just on the physical tour — use blogs to do a 'virtual' book tour.

The way it works is to do interviews with other bloggers and have the post on their site, along with links to buy the book and the "virtual tour schedule" so that readers can follow you through the blogosphere (and, hopefully, the bloggers will not all ask the same questions!).

A pretty good use of your time and specifically directed to readers in your niche.

I don't have much experience with book tours except with movies that always portray them as fairly impersonal events with long lines of adoring fans and the author autographing books very quickly.

However, I do have an idea for your book tour. I am certain most of your fans think of you as a cross between a career consultant and their best friend. So it would make sense to create a warm and inviting environment like meeting them in a living room or Starbucks to discuss your latest thinking.

This is an excellent opportunity for your adoring fans to get to meet and learn more about the great person behind the name and face on your blog.

Hmmm! Is the baby participating so you can show how you balance home and work life?

A few years ago friend took me to see a guy named Alan Moranis give a talk. I'd never heard of him but it turned out that he was promoting his first book. He gave a punchy talk that wowed me so much that I went to see him the next night as well at a different location. I bought his book which was beautifully written and became a fan.

You've got a punchy topic: "Halleluyah! The world is changing, get on board!". And my guess is that you're pretty funny as well so this could be a lot of fun. Kind of a revival meeting for job hunters.

You might want to call up the Communication Managers of all of the professional associations in those cities and tell that you've got a message that will be of interest to members. They might send out an email to their members.
