One of the other reasons leaders and managers let go of small problems is their conflict avoidance nature. I worked with a CEO once who was your best friend - or so I thought. He was all jovial, shoulder patting, joking and laughing - in short, he wanted to do all the "fun stuff".

But he did a Houdini whenever any unpleasant issue needed to be dealt with. It is no wonder, his small business was always in the survival mode.</description>
