good blog, i've gone past the stage of career vs kids but what are your thought on when to tell your employer you are pregnant, i know there are advantages of telling them eary on but I keep putting it off, I'm sure it going to have an adverse affect on my working relation with my manager, I dont want the next 6 months of filing paperwork in the back office, but then I do want to tell them before thye guess (which wont be long lol)

Truth enough! Many couples have to choose between their career and the kids. You will have to judge which is more important. However, I think having a baby make more joy when we all grow old and retired. Don't you think so?

Hi Penelope,

Thanks for sharing your experience. I had been wondering how pregnancy would affect my chance of getting a job in the TV industry in NY.

From your experience, I can imagine that it is definitely not an ideal world out there.

I too have decided though, come what may, I will give preference to having a healthy baby first. As far as work goes, ah! it can wait.
